Vdex


Vdex is an IP telephone system for the small business market that supports up to 50 SIP / IAX phones. For higher reliability, Vdex works without hard disks or noisy fans which are prone to mechanical failure. Equipped with a large amount of flash memory, Vdex is able to store client voicemail messages and customized soundfiles. FEATURES

Automated call attendants Each call is automatically answered and the caller is presented a greeting or spoken directory defined and recorded by you depending on time or/and date or/and caller ID.
Caller ID depending actions Route calls from defined countries, cities or organisations
identified by the caller ID or parts of it to preassigned extensions or attendants. Use various attendants to answer calls, e.g. in the language appropriate for the caller's country code.
Conferences Vdex supports personal conference rooms with up to 8 participants. Vdex offers the capability to record the conference. An email with the recorded file can be sent to the conference owner.
Voice mail Callers may leave a voice message when they are forwarded to a voice mailbox. A unique voice-mail greeting may be recorded for each extension. Vdex can even email the recorded message.
Interactive voice response Create your own interactive voice response and sophisticated message system.
Announcements The announcement feature can be used for, e.g. welcome
messages (music/text before answer). Announcements can also be used for off-time and vacation messages or before e.g. forwarding calls to externals number (e.g. mobile phones).
Music on hold Upload one or more soundfiles via a browser. These soundfiles will be played back when a caller is put on-hold or during the huntgroup waiting time.
Forward calls when busy or away Vdex can automatically forward calls to your extension, to your mobile, to other extensions or to your personalized voice mailbox when you are busy or not available.
Least Cost Routing Vdex can be programmed to automatically route calls to reduce your call costs, e.g., using different SIP / IAX providers or FXO lines depending on time and/or called number.
Use of office phone line from anywhere Make telephone calls using your office telephone line connected to a Vdex by using a SIP-based telephone or your mobile or a standard phone to call into your office whereby Vdex can redirect your call out through a second telephone line or to a VoIP provider.
Hunt groups / Call Queues Incoming calls to hunt group members can be distributed in
parallel, sequential and random. Hunt groups allow calls to be queued while members of a hunt group are busy. The calls will be distributed according to the firstcome first-serve principle.
Time segments
Time segments are freely selectable and can be used for various time and date dependent actions
User groups Calls to the users can be forwarded to a specific extension (e.g. team secretary) in case of no answer or busy.
Support for dialog state information (BLF) Vdex supports dialog state information messages for SIP phones.Phones with BLF (Busy Lamp Field) support can indicate the status (busy, ringing, idle) of other Vdex registered phones.
Message Waiting Indication Vdex supplies SIP phones with message waiting indication (MWI) information. SIP phones with MWI support usually indicate new messages visually (e.g. blinking red light).
Multiple prompt languages Audio prompts are available in English and German.
Call pickup Pickup calls from other phones within the same user group
(undirected) or from a specific ringing extension (directed).
Configure and manage via AstA*UI Configure and manage Vdex via a web browser using a special version of the AstA*UI by Firmix. This version has been optimized by Firmix for peak performance as an embedded application running inside Vdex. Vdex can be configured locally over the LAN and remotely over the Internet via a SSH tunnel.
