TechnoCo announced a new Asterisk™ appliance

TechnoCo, founded by the pioneers of the voice over Internet (VoIP) industry Rick Spielrein and Sean Howard announced the new embedded PBX hardware platform Vdex (Voice Digital Exchange), running a modified, embedded version of the popular PBX software Asterisk™.

Firmix Software, the european partner of TechnoCo for software development and sales is porting Asterisk™ to the new Vdex hardware. Vdex was presented for the first time at the VoIP industry show VoN 2007 in San Jose.

Vdex platform allows VARs (value added resellers) to commercialise their value added software integrated in a attractive and reliable appliance. A standard version containing an extended version of the Asterisk™ GUI DRUID™ will be available to resellers.

The first model of der Vdex family is Vdex-40. Vdex-40 will be available in quantities end of Q3 2007. Selected system integrators and VARs will be able to evaluate samples early Q3 2007.
